God Lord, it's almost over!
I dunno...I just dunno. Thinking back on 2008, it's been a rather unremarkable year. The best thing I can think of coming out of this year, is the fact I simply grow closer, and more dependent on Jeff. That's all I'm gonna say about him.
I have all these un-lived aspirations from the year of 2008. That is no one's fault but mine. It's amazing how easy it is to shirk off the things you dream of, and make excuses for not doing them. I've rarely done that in my past. If I wanted to do it, I found a way to do it.
Last week, I was on google looking for some places to ride to here on the east coast. I'm looking for things and places that have events other than large bike shows and rallies. I have found a number of things that look promising, and I have sent off to the communities hosting these events for more information. As the information comes in, I will blog about the possibilities I may see for a road trip!
Coming up very soon is the V-Twin Expo in Cinci...you know, that's not all that far from here...I'm wondering...if the weather will hold, I sure would like to just show up there...and meet up with all the people I know and haven't seen in a few years...yeah, I would like that....
I recently heard from a friend...someone I seemed to have lost contact with for a while. He had quite a bad accident with his bike this past year. He was wearing a helmet and still suffered severe head trauma. He is fighting to regain his abilities and get back on the bike and ride...God bless him...I know he will do it, stubborn and all that, not to mention, one has to lay down to die...and that just ain't Richard! You go man...and I'll be talking with you soon!
Pappy emailed me this morning to tell me about some strength exercises he does...they sound excellent for me...and I can't wait to start working on them! I'm stopping by a store on the way home to buy what I want to use to start with...and by tomorrow AM...I shall be doing some curling exercises to go along with my walking routine. I so badly want to get fit again.
I have also found the menu I created for myself back in the fall of '05. That was the year I lost over 40 pounds...and kept it off for 2.5 years...until I started getting stupid...and making lame excuses for myself...now I just have to work harder to get myself to a weight I feel good at, and hope I will still look good. Damn getting older still sucks!
OK, I'll let you all return to your normal lives now. Maybe by the start of the week, I will have a good riding story for you? I hope so.
Chessie
Yes...disgusted!!!!!!!!!!
It has been somewhere around three months since I quit smoking, and in the course of trying not to smoke...I have, as thousands before me...picked up the awful habit of stuffing food in my mouth rather than a cigarette. OK...so we tell ourselves...it's for the sake of not smoking...I have to do something...DESTRUCTIVE to myself...or I just won't feel good about doing something CONSTRUCTIVE for myself.
I'm done with that kind of thinking. As you all who have been following me will attest to...I have been leaning towards getting healthier...what with the walks...I was about to say "and all", but I can't say I have and other "and all" healthy habits that I have been stressing on. Look, here it is in a nut shell. For the past several weeks, I have noticed things that are really distressing to me.
1. My fattest fat pants are no longer my fattest pants. In fact they are tight on me around the waist.
2. Bending over to put my chaps on....are you kidding me? I can barely do it...and certainly not in a single maneuver like I used to do.
3. I hate looking at my reflection. It isn't me...it's someone who looks kinda like me...but she's as round as an apple...and has a fat face, and she just don't have that great smile anymore like she used to.
That woman in the mirror needs to work out, eat less, and smile more. So I have decided to work out an eating plan, as well as an activity plan for myself. I no longer will accept any excuses for having high fat food in my hands...heading for my mouth. I will no longer accept reasons for sitting on the couch rather than getting up and doing something, walking, cleaning the toilet, wiping the dogs butt...what ever...rather than sitting on the couch and watching TV. I vow...that whenever the urge to close my eyes and nap comes along...I will get my dead ass up and do something...anything, rather fall into that trap of laziness. God help me, I'm through with this shit.
OK, done for now. I have to get back to work.
Mr. Motorcycle's word challenge game
Rules of the game. I pick the word, you get to tie that word into motorcycles in as few words as possible. The most creative one in fewest words wins bragging rights.
The word is Potato.

I'll go first since it's my blog.
"The sound a Harley makes while idling is Potato, Potato, Potato. "
(Of course I picked the easy obvious one! It's my game!)
However, this most likely guarantees me no bragging rights.
I'll do a poll on the best one after some entries are done in comments.
You'll have three days starting tomorrow morning.
Good Luck!!!!!
Rode to work today.
My dog Jock was sound asleep, I had to wake him up, help him get on his feet...and get his blind ass out the door to pee. Then lead him to the kitchen, and get him his breakfast and meds...I love that old dog...no doubt.
It's time to go, Mom is starting to stir...I tell her not to worry, I am gonna take the bike to work this morning. She tells me to be careful of the pipes with my outfit...it will melt the material. OPPsss well, Ma, I already took care of that problem by putting on my old leather chaps...you know, the tan ones that have three years of oil spray from the rockers on them? Over 100,000 K of oil on them? I may not look like I'm going to work as an executive Secretary...but then, I'm just temping for my sister at the County Mayor's office anyway! OH OH...I hope she don't become embarrassed over my dress code...pretty much try to look good, but be well ready for riding home in the fricken cold! I'm wearing my HD boots today...but at least my pants look good! Not wearing blue jeans!
I love riding, I don't care what the temps are, as long as the road conditions are safe...no snow, no ice...then I'm all up for a good ride...but I swear to God, I'm gonna go get gloves at the farm store at lunch today. The ride this morning was at 34 degrees, and no gloves. I want a good pair of goat skin gloves...man those are soft, warm and fit well. Nothing like Kid skin to make your hands feel like pampered and cherished entities...I always seem to neglect my hands. All the same, I'm glad it's only six miles to work...it was cold without gloves...and my sleeve of my jacket was handy, but not always effective to curl my fingers up in!
I love riding...gonna do it till I die an un-natural death.

BIKERNET WORKS WITH INDUSTRY TO KEEP US FREE-- Irvine, California, December 16, 2008: Keith R. Ball, President of Bikernet.com met with Tim Buche, President of the MIC, Grady Phieffer, GH Marketing and Ted Sands of Performance Machine regarding the viability of an aftermarket motorcycle support group. Recently during these tough economic times an opportunity surfaced to create a motorcycle aftermarket group under the umbrella of SEMA, the aftermarket industry group for the Hot Rod and automotive industry, which represents over 7,500 members. "Timing is everything," said Ball. "Years ago this was attempted, but the motorcycle industry lacked a unified voice. Fortunately we still have this opportunity to step up, band together and protect our industry through SEMA or the MIC."
In this economic climate SEMA brings a large variety of services and benefits to the custom motorcycle aftermarket, the builders, dealers and the motorcycle rights groups such as the MRF (Motorcycle Riders Foundation):

"This was especially exciting for me because I was a charter member of the ARMO Council that represents the automotive restoration market," said Seth Doulton, President of Horsepower Productions. "I served on and headed up the licensing and OE relations committee, and I can tell you first hand that it was the best thing in my 35 years in the market place to ever come down the road. The restoration industry has benefited three fold by the networking that is strengthened by SEMA's leadership and power. The motorcycle industry has needed this for many years. We need to build a strong team so that SEMA knows we are for real."
Another meeting is scheduled during the Cincy V-Twin Expo show to discuss this effort with the Industry, SEMA and MIC members, Sunday, February 8, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. This is a not-to-be- missed meeting during the biggest aftermarket trade show for the custom motorcycle industry.
"This could be the chance of a lifetime for our industry," said Ball. "Especially in this current economic climate, but it's up to us to get involved." This committee will be open to any members of our industry on the American or Metric side, manufacturers, clubs, shops, dealers, builders or individuals. A major goal of this committee will be to support motorcycle rights groups around the world including the MRF with 60 state charters and 250,000 members. "Our primary goal is to keep the custom industry free and vibrant in the coming years," Ball said.

Hope your holiday's were filled with cheer!
Seeing as I don't post pictures of my wife or kids, I'll share a couple of Christmas pictures of the cats and dog.
I don't have pictures with cats and their new mice, 'cause, well, they get them every year. I do have a few good ones though.
Can you find Beethoven the cat in this picture?
How about now?
(Wolfie on lower step, Beethoven on upper step)
Did anyone say Cheese????

Cy's new walkin boots (first time on his feet).
Doesn't look too happy does he???
Cy's new hedge hog
Cy's new moose
It was a joyous day with friends and family.
I hope yours was as well.
Christmas Eve...
Mom's cat is a present peeker. He don't care whose name is on the package, You can count on him to bite a hole in the corner...and tear off the bows...not to mention batting the balls off the tree...and on one of the trees, mom has little Robbin's egg and nests hanging...the little black rat likes to knock them off the tree...and play skittles with them. I keep finding them in the pantry, which is where all things kitty end up. You lose an ear ring? Go to the pantry, cuz that's where the black rat bastard batted it to during the night.
Today, the temps are going to be in the high 50's. I still have Christmas shopping to do, and the items are small enough, I can ride my bike to do the shopping. That will cut down on looking for parking...but...I will also have to be on the look out twice as diligently in order to keep the little girls on cell phones, the blue hairs who can't see over the steering wheel, and the red necks with gun racks from running me over...! Not too bad...I can do it!
OK y'all...
Have a great Christmas, enjoy your Christmas Dinners, and the round of family you will be seeing today and tomorrow...
And God bless every one ya...

Ace Motorcycle Rare Drawings from 1919 Found in Dumpster!
In 1919, at the end of the World War One, a significant set of drawings was created. They would be lost for the next 90 years, until discovered in a trash bin; it seemed their fate was to end up in a land fill. Instead, they will be sold at the Mid-America Auction, which will be held at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas on January 10th 2009.
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) December 23, 2008 -- In 1919, at the end of the World War One, a significant set of drawings was created. They would be lost for the next 90 years, until discovered in a trash bin; it seemed their fate was to end up in a land fill. Instead, they will be sold at the Mid-America Auction, which will be held at the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas on January 10th 2009.
The Ace Four: the finest thing on two wheels!
After spending much of my adult life looking for this type of treasure, it was overwhelming to find what represents the finest work of the most renowned designer in American motorcycle history. And to think they were headed for a landfill; when I found them, I had goose bumps for a week.
During the World War I era, a number of early manufacturers went out of business or were bought up by stronger companies. William Henderson, who is still considered America's most creative motorcycle designer, sold his company to a German immigrant, Ignatius Schwinn, who started making bicycles in Chicago in 1895. The Henderson had a fine reputation as being America's most luxurious, elegant, and expensive four cylinder motorcycle. Schwinn felt he had taken ownership of the "best of the best" and added it to his Excelsior Line. Despite signing a non-compete clause, Henderson was unhappy and soon began plans for a finer and even more elegant replacement, the ACE.
Henderson would call it "The Ace Four: the finest thing on two wheels!" He began drawing the plans for his elegant new ACE and searching for investors to help finance the new factory. As soon as his non-compete expired production began. Money would eventually run out, and while searching for the finances needed to complete his machine, production was moved, and even discontinued a couple of times.
One tragic cold day, Dec. 11th 1922, Henderson was test riding the new Ace and was struck by a car and killed. Within weeks his assistant, Arthur Lemon, completed the final drawings, and then sold the rights to Indian Motorcycle Co., America's largest manufacturer. Indian produced the bike as the Ace, then Indian Ace, and finally as their own brand, the Indian Four. During the 1930s, it went on to become America's only luxury motorcycle, akin to a Duesenberg or Cord.
The original drawings, numbering approximately 400 pieces, disappeared from view. Lost in the files of the massive Indian Company, the Henderson Ace drawings were assumed to have been destroyed in 1953, when Indian went out of business. Astonishingly, the new owner, Bill Melvin, found the drawings as they were being placed in a dumpster and headed for a land fill. They had sat under layers of dust in a warehouse for years. Bill Melvin says "After spending much of my adult life looking for this type of treasure, it was overwhelming to find what represents the finest work of the most renowned designer in American motorcycle history. And to think they were headed for a landfill; when I found them, I had goose bumps for a week."
The drawings are each signed and dated by William Henderson and Arthur Lemon; they were done on a cloth material and are in beautiful condition. They still rest in the old envelopes from the Indian factory They have added significance in that many of Henderson's inventions are still in use in today's machines.
Please direct questions to Bill Melvin 616-450-0640.

winter project

Just kidding. A friend of mine passed this along.
This is one of the strangest trikes yet.
Pictures of downtown...
Yesterday went well. Diane's boss was out of town, in Nashville all day. I think I answered the phone all of six times...twice was the same guy, who I kept losing when I transferred his call to another extension. (I didn't remember to push the "transfer" button TWICE!) Poor guy, bet he was thinking he was dealing with a moronic nutcase! He would have been only half right!
This is the court house where Diane's office is located. Can you imagine me...a pierced and tattooed biker lady...working just down the hall from the rooms where lady justice stands blind folded? I'm useally the one standing in front of that lady hoping my lawyer is as good as he thinks he is!
Now this also stands right in front of the court house. It's the traffic circle there. It's a nice simple monument to the military men and women who gave their lives in all the wars and conflicts for the United States. A little deeper into the town, there is a kind of wall, that lists the names of the dead. This town does honor it's military...and that's something to be proud of. I will one day soon take a walk down the road that is dedicated to these guys and gals. I will take pictures and post them here on the blog, it's amazing how beautiful it is...most small town's memorials tend to look cheap and sloppy, not to mention forgotten! Not ours!
Next on the walking tour comes the covered bridge. As I told you earlier, I feel this is one of the most beautiful covered bridges i have ever encountered! I've lived in Lancaster PA. and I've travelled about the NE a little...I've seen my share of covered bridges...I wish it was fall instead of winter. I would love to show you the fall colors and the reflective quailities that make this bridge so lovely! Here are a few more shots of the bridge. Then the tour is over for the day...I have to go back to work for Diane today...
One last thing before I go...Diane likes Christmas...she's decorated her office with stuff she collects from home. Here are some pictures of what she's done to brighten her office...nice touch Diane.
So I guess the next thing I should do...
Is wish all of you a really great Christmas...
Just in case you don't make it back here before Christmas comes....
Chessie
Not at home...
I brought my camera with me. She works in the historic district of downtown. I wanted to take my walk down here and get pictures of the area anyway. She is a block away from one of the prettiest covered bridges I have ever seen, and there is a nice walking trail that leads along the river banks here...if it ever quits raining, I hope to get some pictures!
I've had some requests for more pictures of the banks of Buffalo Creek...and again, if it ever quits raining, I will be happy to get some photos of the banks there near the house. We have some interesting trees and root systems, not to mention a family of ferret fellows have made their home nearby on that bank somewhere.
Oh, man...getting up this morning was a real smasher. I mean, I didn't have a problem with getting up myself, but my dog...the poor guy...would have rather stayed asleep for an hour or more longer! He's 15 years old, and will be 16 in March...he's gotten to where he likes to sleep in until around 8.30 9.00, before he gets up for his "shit, shower, and shave." Now concider this, he is very much retired...so the the only part of the three "S's" he adheres to anymore is the shitting part. After that, it's into the kitchen for breakfast and morning meds. Once breakfast is inhaled, he once again heads for the great outdoors...just to make sure everything has come out just as it should have.
Jock is blind now. Not to mention he has Author in the joints of his hips, spine, hips, and legs. So I have to wake him up...help him get his surroundings back...massage his hind legs so he can stand...help him stand up by picking him up by his hips...steady him till he knows where he is and why he's up...then lead the way to the door for him. He's a great and loyal friend...I love him loads. I'll be sure to upload a picture of him soon...and introduce him to all of you!
We also have a cat in the house. Yes, he is strictly a house kitty. He's been de-clawed, and is an effeminate kind of kitty. Meaning, I took him to have his ball bearings removed long before he even knew what they were...much less where they were. Felix is a long hair black cat. He's intelligent guy, hates to be a lap kitty, loves to fight with Jeff...but he realizes he is not allowed to fight with Mom or me...has to be a lover around us! So Felix waits to ambush Jeff in the early morning hours...on the dark stairs. He will attack Jeff's ankles as he descends the stairs, or he will lie his entire body length out on one of the steps...I think the cat wants to trip Jeff up, and send him sprawling down the stairs. For what possible reason...I don't know, since Jeff is the only one in the house who will play with him the way he wants to be played with...I mean, if Felix hurts Jeff, then who will play mean with the cat?
OK, well this is all for now, I'll write more tomorrow, and post pictures as well. For tonight, when I get home, I will have to go Christmas shopping. I hate this time of year...I never get everything done on time. Aw well...wish me luck at the stores...
Charactors in my neighborhood
Well, ok...went for my walk of the neighborhood today...and while not "everyone" I wanted to introduce you to was around...those who were...well check 'em out yourself!
Now, I'm not sure if this gal is Thelma....or if she's Louise, but Mr. Butterworth tells me he has named his gals....Thelma and Louise....
I like to take pictures of old out buildings, sheds and barns...this one is close to my home...and on my walk...what ya think? Like old weathered boards too?
As I have mentioned before...some of us grow a nice garden...this is the December ruins of a neighbor's summer garden....I love it here, I really do!
Of course I would be remiss in my little tour, if I didn't give you a shot of the creek that runs behind my house...I sure hope you all enjoyed the tour...
Biker joke
The Sensitive Biker
Tara and a few of her friends decide to step out of the box. Instead of their usual meeting place, they decide to spice up the night and try going somewhere different. They choose a local biker bar in Charming, named Road Grits. They are all fairly prim and proper and completely out of their comfort zones. Most certainly not the biker type of gals.
Tara ends up sitting next to Jax, one of the bar's locals. They talk...they connect....they end up leaving together.
They get back to Jax's place, and he shows her around his apartment. She notices that one wall of his bedroom is completely filled with soft, sweet, cuddly teddy bears.
There are three shelves in the bedroom with hundreds and hundreds of cute, cuddly teddy bears carefully placed
in rows, covering the entire wall! It was obvious that he had taken quite some time to lovingly arrange them and she was immediately touched by the amount of thought he had put into organizing the display.
There were small bears all along the bottom shelf, medium-sized bears covering the length of the middle shelf, and huge, enormous bears running all the way along the top shelf.
She found it strange for a biker to have such a large collection of teddy bears.Although, completely drawn to his rebel side, she is quite impressed by his sensitive side as well.
They have a few drinks and continue talking. After awhile, She finds herself thinking, 'Oh my God! Maybe, this guy could be the one! Maybe he could be the future father of my children?'
She turns to him and kisses him lightly on the lips. He responds warmly.
They continue to kiss, the passion builds, and he romantically lifts her in his arms and carries her into his bedroom where they rip off each others clothes and have hot, steamy sex.
She's more overwhelmed with passion than she has ever known before.
After an intense, explosive night together with this sensitive guy, they are lying there together in the afterglow. Tara rolls over, gently strokes Jax's chest and asks coyly, 'Well, how was it?'
He gently smiles at her, strokes her cheek, looks deeply into her eyes, and says:'Help yourself to any prize from the middle shelf before you let your self out'
Good Morning....or at least it is right now as I write this.
I haven't updated my blog in the last two days, I imagine if I were to concentrate on the happenings of the news of late, I would have plenty to blog about...I would be seething with frustration regarding the bail outs and other news items I have been trying to ignore. No, I try not to write about things that are just going to make me nuts for hours...if not weeks after investigation on my part regarding how it will affect me and my loved ones....nope, I just refuse to do that.
So, for now, the best I can do is tell you...I continue to walk on a daily basis...On Sat. I took my walk. I didn't do a measured walk, but rather walked my neighborhood. This isn’t very large. I live in a rural setting. On my dead end street there are six houses. On the street that it T bones into...there are twenty more house. With two nearly built ones sitting empty, waiting for someone to get the financing it takes to buy it...and move in. Sigh...housing is becoming a bad investment these days around here.
Now, what I do have in my neighborhood...is farms...small farm-ettes, and small cattle farms as well. I find it comforting to have my windows open at night...listening to the cows as they low at the farmer who is up on the hill above my house...bringing hay for his girls and their calves. Most of the calls these gals make sound quite urgent...like they haven't eaten in hours...cows are much like welfare recipients...big difference is when the cows start complaining...I actually find it soothing to listen to.
The farmettes around here provide shelter for several kinds of animals, which, I will not mention at this time, as I plan to walk today...with my camera, making sure I not only have the camera...but the stinking memory card as well. There are some great characters around here, which deserve their own time and honorable mention here in the blog. So I will introduce them to you this afternoon, once I have taken my walk, taken their pictures, edited the stuff...and downloaded to my PC.
Well, it’s time to start writing for money, rather than pleasure. It’s 5.30 AM…and I am ready to get hard at it for the morning…
Chessie
Today's walk...It didn't suck!
As I started walking, the chill was starting to bite at my nose...yes boys and girls, it's cold out here! I waited until 11:oo am to start this walk...by that time, it had warmed up...from 32 degrees to almost 40. Much better, and I knew I wasn't gonna go if I didn't leave then...yeah, I been there and done that with myself!
I encountered two other people while I was there on my walk...on guy was a jogger...friendly and said hello when I did...the other was one of those snobby bitches...who you know...just by looking at her, her clothing, her attitude...the way she avoided eye contact with ya as she approached you...well the bitch...was just too fancy and too high flouting to make me feel comfortable about her being in my neck of the fricken woods...good thing she was goose stepping it outta there! LOL
Well I am gonna go walking everyday...build up my resistance to exercise, extend the lengths of the walks, and I am gonna get a whole shit load of healthy-ier things going on in my life...you watch and see!
My resolve is being tested!
OK, wish me luck = I'm gonna go put on my warm clothes...and do this.
See ya when I get back with the pictures. And no...this is not about motorcycles today...I wonder how I am able to get so far off track?
Chessie
Awesome artwork you must see...

original watercolor painting by Debbie Klassen
I've seen it many times before, and studied it. The first time I laid eyes on it, I was in awe of how that much detail could be done with watercolor. From a distance, it looks airbrushed. I'm an artsy fartsy kind of fellow myself, and this kind of quality does not go unrecognized. Too bad that before today, I never noticed the link below the photo on Doug's blog. Salt and Light Studio Fine Art watercolor. Hell, until today's post on Doug's blog I never even knew his wife was the fine artist of the painting that I so many times have drooled over. Her name is Debbie Klassen. She's a great painter of high caliber in my opinion. If you like art, and you like motorcycles, go check it out! She obviously paints more than just motorcycles, but her husband Doug has a great passion for them, and She is recently sharing a love for a Honda Ruckus herself. Rumor has it she is starting her own blog. I look forward to seeing what she might have to say!
Aim High. What's the worst that could happen?
This is not so much of a balze of glory but a Wholly Sh*t moment!
Change is good for the soul.
I am Mr. Motorcycle
I live at 1 Frozen place in, Minnesota, United States
My wife refers to me as Mr. Motorcycle. My real name is Mark. I'm happily married and I'm also a father to 6 children. I have two human offspring, two cats, one dog, and one custom Harley. I believe that makes 6 children. As my blog name states, I'm a biker. When not doing my real full time job, or going for a ride, I like to do art, custom paint jobs, and make posts to this blog thing
you're reading.

We have adopted a dog, a Senior 9 Yr. old Golden Retriever from RAGOM.
(Retrieve A Golden Of Minnesota).
If you've followed this blog for a while, you might remember that I'm a big sucker for pets, and animal rescue organizations.
I'd like to share with you a letter that my wife wrote so eloquently in an e-mail that she shared with our extended family to give the good news...
"For a very long time there have been wishes voiced around our house about another family pet; specifically a dog. There were years our living situation made it impossible and there were years that our schedules & hectic family life weren't ideal for dog ownership; however as we've settled into our new house and as the kids have gotten not only older but also more self sufficient and responsible we realized that we were finally "there". A lot of time was spent researching different breeds and talking to friends with dogs; every time we came back to the same conclusion, the quintessential family dog, a Golden Retriever. Once that decision was made we began working with a local rescue organization Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota (RAGOM) to match us with a dog in need of a home. It was important to us that we find a dog who was good with children of all ages, trustworthy with cats, a good learner, past the rambunctious puppy stage, and relatively healthy. We've finally found our match, and his name is Cy.
Change in this case, is good for the soul. Cy has made each of us at our house very happy.
My family of (now 8 if you want to include the Harley) feels complete. (Well almost...) I would not be heart broken if another dog needing a home found its way to our hearts and home and made a daytime pal for Cy whilst all others are working or schoolin. The cats are not much fun for the dog seeing as we don't allow him to chase them.
What a perfect way to kick off the holidays!
Cheers!
Man it's been awhile...

I've been busy with my book business...and with keeping Mom healthy...and Jeff happy.
He is pressuring me to get back into Editing and pictures...seems I dropped off the face of the earth this past year in those regards. I was fearful that Jeff wouldn't like me being busy with things outside of the home...and with me being gone to ride as much as I used to...so I haven't been out lately.
So now, I have made the choice to get out more now, rain or shine. This includes starting a devoted time to walk. I think I will start out with a two mile trek at first...steadily working my miliage up.
I also will be riding more. This past year sucked big time...I thought I was doing something for my relationship...but...the "something" I was doing wasn't good for it. So...I'll be off and riding again soon.
I got stopped in Oct. for my helmet. I have been using that helmet since 05...gotten stopped several times, but no one ever mentioned my helmet till now. So I had to go out and buy a new helmet...I actually like the way this one feels....it's not like the old DOT helmets...the ones that made me feel like I was wearing a parasail on my head! This one actually sits on my head without choking me. Still can't do anything about the mushroom look...but what the hell...ya do what ya do!
It's been raining here a lot lately,,, raining hard today...and yesterday...with snow expected tonight. So I'll let ya know what is happening...I'll be taking pictures on my walks...and I will let you tell me what you think of em...

2 cups of coffee

I've been really busy lately, and having a hard time finding time to do much more than work. It's been a while since I've posted, and this e-mail came across to me recently reminding me to take time for the good stuff in life. The folks I chat with on my blog are some of the good things in life, so I felt I should share this with you....
The Mayonnaise Jar
And 2 CUPS OF COFFEE
When things in your life seem
almost too much to handle,
when 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
remember the mayonnaise jar
and 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of
him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
he picked up a very large
and empty mayonnaise jar
and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.
He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open
areas between the golf balls.
He then asked
the students again
if the jar was full..
They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded
with an unanimous
"yes."
The professor then produced
two cups of coffee from under the table And poured the entire contents into
the jar, effectively filling the Empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor,
as the laughter subsided,
"I want you to recognize that
this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, health,
friends, and favorite passions -- things that if everything else was lost
and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.
The sand is everything else --
the small stuff.
"If you put the sand into the jar first,"
he continued,
"there is no room for
the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time
and energy on the small stuff,
you will never have room for
the things that are
important to you.
So...
Pay attention to the things
that are critical to your happiness.
Play with your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.
Play another 18.
There will always be time
to clean the house
and fix the disposal.
"Take care of the golf balls first --
the things that really matter.
Set your priorities.
The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand
and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled.
"I'm glad you asked".
It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's
always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."
Son's of Anarchy Episode 13 review

The season finale lucky#13 episode did not disappoint.
The show started out with Gemma confronting Clay regarding what he knew of the Donna shooting. When he could not answer the question that it had nothing to do with the club, She knew it did. This brought Clay to tears.
We moved onto the local police station where Unser and Hale start laying blame on Donna's death, and ultimately decide that maybe the outlaws should serve up their own justice. Hale slips a bit of information to Jax, so he can go ballistic.
Half Sack shows back up in this episode.
Tara has a talk with Jax about her going back to Chicago, which Jax wants to hear nothing of the sorts.
Gemma finds John Teller's Journal while unpacking some of Jax's belongings. Confronts Clay with it, and Clay looses his Sh*t over it and storms out in a rage. Gemma mutters to herself "Your loosing control, just like he did" referring to John Teller.
There is a hold up in the bar that the Niner's (the black gang involved in the prior episode's shoot out) hang out in started by Piermont Winston (AKA Piney) Opies father. Jax and Half-sack save the day here, by getting Piney and themselves out alive. Here it is revealed that the hit on Donna was not gangster, and not served up by the Niners.
There is a scene where ATF Agent June Stahl is in with Bobbi in jail, and she reveals to him that she set up Opie, and that Donna's death was a mistake. Did She do this to vent, or did she do this to get Bobbi to turn on the club for killing Donna? Maybe something more was in her motives that I've not figured out yet. We'll have to wait and see.
Jax confront's Clay in the clubhouse. Asks him if he had anything to do with the hit intended for Opie, and mistakenly taken out on Donna. Clay blatenly denies it, and Jax walks out on him. Jax finds out that the informant witness is a 17 year old girl, and goes off to stop the other club members from putting a hit on her. Jax and Tig get into it over Jax stopping the hit. Tig says, "You've crossed the line Jax" to which Jax replies, "Not yet" and then the brawl between the two is on. Jax ultimately kicks Tigs ass.
We skip by to a scene where Piney is reading a note from John teller that he has clearly hung onto for years. The note reveals how much the club has changed since the two of them founded the SOA MC.
We then back track to a scene where Jax spends some time alone clearing his head after the fight with Tig. Jax is drinking some beer, and smoking some weed in the cemetary where John Teller, his father is burried. He wakes up in the cemetary the next morning and gives a blanket he borrowwed from a homeless bag lady back to her, and proceeds to walk down to the funeral burial that has started for Donna.
Jax leaves the funeral burial right quick, and as he is walking away, Tara leaves the funeral burial to follow behind. They embrace in a kiss.
Piney comes up to Jax, hands him a large stack of papers. (I did not catch exactly what they were) Club rights, or something. Piney says to Jax, "Time for a change." then walks away.
Jax goes to John Teller's grave, and we see Gemma and Clay looking at him with great concern. This is where the episode ends for a cliffhanger waiting untill next season.
Wholy crap it't been a hell of a ride. I'm stoked for next season. How about You!?!?!
